Behavior Management

I will be using a classroom management tool called ClassDojo.  You may have heard about it already, however, it is a web based program which allows me to track students behavior (positive and negative) easily and efficiently.  The program is based on points, and students can be given positive points for things like being on task, being respectful, participating, and/or working hard.  On the other hand, points can be taken away if students are off task, talking out, or not following the rules.  You as a parent will be able to see all behavior in our learning environment!

It is very important that your child arrive at school on time each day!  Instruction begins at 7:45 am.  If your child comes to school after 7:45 am, he/she is marked tardy.  If your child is late, you must accompany them into the building and sign them in.  It is also important that your child attend school every day, unless he/she is sick.  If your child is absent, a written excuse or doctor’s note should be sent in to school on the day your child returns.

Your child’s work will be sent home daily/weekly in their binder.  Please discuss your child’s work with them and keep at home when necessary.  Please send back the binder and agenda daily with the agenda signed.  Your child will also have notes and other school related information, such as field trips forms, dances and other events or messages from me!

I need a written permission from you whenever there is a change of your child’s regular transportation, even if it is for one day.

Your child may bring a snack to eat.  We go to lunch at 12:25 – 12:53.  He/she can bring a lunch from home or eat in our cafeteria.  Students lunches are $2.20 a day; $11.00 a week.  Breakfast is available for $1.15 a day; $5.75 a week.

If you child tell me they are hungry in the morning, I am required to send them to the cafeteria and get something to eat.  This will cause a charge to their account.  Please make sure they eat at home if possible.  Thanks
